    Very clean install, did you use silicone or some type of sealer to keep the water out of the hull?
    I did some Kawi units years ago, nothing better than having cleats for tie-ups.

    I used clear RTV silicone to seal it up. I did one side tonight, less than an hour. I am planning on doing the other tomarrow. I used 6 in cleats, I belive the 4 in ones would work better. I wanted some tie offs but did not want an ugly cleat popping out of the hull. Hell my luck I would go over the handle bars and kill myself on one of them. So, I went with the pop up cleats.

    Could you provide some more info on cleat options? Brands or models?

    What do the 4 inch cleats look like, compared to your 6 inch cleats?
    Any issues with the cleats rattling or popping up in rough water riding or trailering?

    Is this the one you used?
    Accon Stainless Pop-up Cleat 4 1/2"
    Accon Marine

    This one looks tidy too;
    Hardin Marine Touch-N-Go Spring Loaded Cleats

    Those are a great idea, and look great. I've gotta add those to my projects list of needed things.

    Here is what it looks like, not mounted. I went with the pull up style and not the spring pop up style. I had to make a spacer as the hull is not thick enough. Made one out of an oak board I had laying around.

    The four inch one is not as long or as wide. Measured at the cleat and not the unit (base).

    Where did you source them?

    I am seeing online prices around $60+ for the Accon Marine pop-up cleats. The Hardin pop-ups seem to be impossible to find, and probably would cost even more, I suspect.
