    Sea Doo Cylinder Head Parts

Ok I've been browsing Jerry's store and I am wondering,

WHY ARE THE VALVES AND CAMSHAFTS SOO MUCH DAMN MONEY?????

I know its not Jerry taking an outrageous mark up. I shop Chevy small block parts and you can out fit a bare block chevey for what you spend on a cam and light valves in the doo. What's the deal are they made of gold?

Yeah, right. I can buy three sets of hydrualic roller cams and lifters for what a BRP racing cam goes for.

I gotta admit I am mostly venting.

$2250 (valves and cam) would make at least 400 hp on the 327 sitting in my garage, and it makes what 250hp in the 4-tec?

yes but, the sbc has been around since man began to walk upright, the 4-tec, not so long. Then u gotta look at production #s, and then factor in the very small # of units being modded, the still smaller # of units that will get valves or cam. Now u have a much lower production run of parts resulting in a much higher cost per unit. A lot of this stuff is over-priced, but some of the parts are of the very highest quality, when compared to gm or ford chit.

I understand that. I factored it in even. I could see $600 or so a unit for the cam, even as high as $750 but $1500 sheesh thats high way robbery, unless they have some Austrian hand turning theses cams

.... but like 9SecZO6 said, there is a huge market for automotive cams, the market for PWC's is extremely small. Small market usually means high prices to us consumers
