    Rapid's GPR conversion project

Well decided to build a gpr conversion.. with the incredable results people are getting from these gprxp boats i figured that is the hull to start with..

I know this is going to upset a few people but I think im NOT going to use a 4tec motor this time.. allready did 2 4tec convertions and well the concept behind the GPRXP's has be done now over and over again and is becoming "not so orginal" anymore...

enough babeling, anyway ive got a few powerplant idea's im tossing around.. all pump gas. some twin turbo or maybe single wipple SC..
not really sure.. it all depends on measurements when i pick up the hull from kirk next week.. I really don't wanna cut this hull like I hadda on the RXPL... but will if i gotta...

Ill keep posting updates as the project starts to push forward...

    I agree.
Consider waiting and doing the conversion from the SHO1800. That will be cool.

hmm.. the new yami 1800 would be cool but finding one cheap would be hard. ive been researching a certain powerplant for a few years now, allready measured and drawn it out in the CAD..along with all the adaptors, exhaust, driveline etc.. maybe be done by mudbug 08 probbly mudbug 09 before its perfect..

One thing That I realized after seeing all these turbo ski's. If you go turbo, that takes the water jacketed exhaust pretty much out of the picture... Or makes it considerably easier anyway. I'm about to have a spare s2000 engine, I think its calling to me to be put in a ski.

The expense of the donor motor and machining the needed adaptors and fabbing the jacketed exhaust is a bit scary.. not outa my capabilitys but still very time consuming.. Ill have to wait till after the holidays before spending any money on the motor so i still got about 6 weeks to decide on powerplants.. maybe be done by mudbug 08 probbly mudbug 09 before its perfect.. Time and money is two things that im a bit low on at the moment.. kids and christmas got me stretching every dime at the momoent but i just couldn't pass up on this GPR hull...A christmas present from ME to ME.

He's gonna be flying in no time. It helps too when you have a GREAT ski to start with.

A few folks have talked about the Hiyabusa turbo setup. It's down on cc's, but for short throttle pulls, it can be tweaked pretty far up the ladder.
