Thread: RXT , GPS #'s

    RXT , GPS #'s

I recently get my new RXT from the dealer last week. I rode it for around 10 hours. When it was 7 hours, I do a "High Speed" run, that doesn't sound like a real high speed. I test the GPS with my friends skis and this was the results:

    RXT (new-stock) - 2005 - 62.7
    GP-1200 (modified)- 68.7
    GP1300R (modified) - 72.5
    Ultra 150 (tripple pipe)- 77.6
    GTX '98 (modified)- 63.2

The GPS read was 62.7 (highest). I only can run with the old Sea Doo GTX, cause the other skis, smokes me bad...
What can it be the problem? are those speeds ok, for a brand new machine?

its a brand new ski man, you only had 7 hours on it. with each passing hour your rxp will get stronger and pull harder. after 40 hours the mpem automatically remaps itself for optimum efficiency..i didnt even pick mine up yet..goin to go to the dealer on friday and pickin it up and im not lookin foward to that 10 hour break in.

77.6 on an ultra is a horrible ride..Like trying to hold on the back of a dragster with rollerblades on..Depending on conditions RXT's should be in around 63-66 mph range..Mind you most of the early gps #'s that came out were in IDEAL conditions..

My RXT was doing about 64 on the GPS when new before mods. Speedometer hits 70 when I'm doing 63 on GPS.I now have the complete Stage 2 kit {minus sponsons} and the best I've done is 68.3 on GPS.
But I've outrun every stock ski that I have run against and that includes two RXP's, several 1200&1300 Yamis and two ultra 150's so none of these #'s are what they advertise I would just like to hit 70 and the stage 2 is supposed to do 71 to 72.
All my testing has been done under pretty bad conditions rough water, windy etc. Would really like to get on some smooth water to see what differance it would make.

I'm almost there. Yesterday air was 78 degrees, water was 68 degrees, slight chop... 69.9 mph @ 8150 rpm.

    RR IC
    PPG Power Pipe
    Riva Power Flow intake
    R&D 2.5 degree wedge
    Impros tweeked 12/18.5 stock impeller

The Vortech SC impeller was shipped today.

I am installing an Impros 12/19.5 right now and should have results in about 2 hrs.

Looks like you are going to hit that 70 Jeff. I sent the prop off I got from Riva to be repitched this morning hope that gets me over that illusive 70.
I think part of my problem is also the heat it is near 90 here water temps in 80's, of course my weight of 245 doesn't help either.
That vortech supercharger impeller really helped my ski ,it should give you the extra boost you need to put you over 70.Check the Riva web forum they have some new instructions on insallation if you don't get them with impeller.
    Good luck keep us posted.

OK... water temp now 73 degrees, air temp 83 degrees. Everything else the same except I switched from the Impros 12/18.5 to the Impros 12/19.5... 70.5 mph @8100 rpm I did notice a small decrease in acceleration, but I have a hunch I'll gain that back next week when I install the Vortech SC impeller. By the way, out of six passes three were 70.5, two were 70.3, and one was 70.1

I couldn't be happier... thanks, Hulk, for all your help and support.

Now the fine tuning begins... come on 72!
