Thread: Fuel economy

Good morning all. I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a new ski and wanted to get your feedback on fuel consumption. While I'm drawn to the new 255hp SeaDoo, I'm told it will slurp gas as it is supercharged. Do supercharged skis use a lot more fuel than say a Yamaha HO ski which is not supercharged?

Welcome Islandtime, I do beleave the Yamaha sho will get better econ then the Sea Doo. That is if you keep it stock. Once you start moding any ski you can forget fuel econ.

I am definitely not going to modify as I want to maintain reliability. What about the FX HO Vs. the FX SHO? I guess it's all pretty much speculation until it hits the streets. What is the HP of the FX HO and FX SHO?

if you contiplating whether to get the HO or the SHO get the SHO
but if your arguing about the RXPX or the SHO, get the RXPX
just more fun than anything else

if you are willing to dish out 13G's for a "x" ski you shouldnt be worried about fuel economy....plus if you modify a ski, it could have better gas mileage becasue you could go just as fast at lower RPMs....just a though but i may be wrong
