    Narrowing it down on First Sea Doo purchase-2005 GTI LE RFI?

    I'm getting close to pulling the trigger. Need opinions on a:

    2005 GTI LE RFI - 110 hp, 2 stroke
    20 hours
    Warrenty available thru August
    Trailer and Cover Included
    $7,000 (might go lower)

    Couple of Questions:

    Is this a good price?
    What kind of performance? Top speed?
    What can it pull (tuber, knee boarder, skier?) Would it pull me-270 lbs?
    What is the "turning" fun facter compared to RXT? (I know RXT "speed" fun facter would blow it away)

    I'm still considering a new 2005 RXT if I can get them down to around 9K.

    Thanks in advance for any feedback and for the suggestions I've received so far on seperate post!

    P.S. I'm buying something for my family which consists of twin 10 year old girls and a 4 year old boy.

    2 stoke

    its my personal preference, but if you can, go with a 4 stroke.

    you can get a faster, more reliable, more powerful, all around better machine for about 200 bucks more...

    2006 GTI
    4-stroke
    1500cc
    130 HP

    don't pay anywhere close to 7k for that 05 GTI!!

    now u toss in the RXT... totally different animal, you can't even compare these machines. the 06 GTI will be lighter and turn better than an RXT, but an RXT will eat a GTI for breakfast and straighten out your arms with it's raw power...

    all in all... don't get the 05 GTI 2-stroke... don't get anything 2-stroke.

    2006 GTI's

    Shibby,

    Did you mean you could buy a 2006 GTI for just $200 or $2,000 more? I looked on the Sea Doo web page and they are listed for $10,399. (I'm not sure how much they typically discount from M.S.R.P.???)

    Also, I was told the 2 stroke was MUCH more powerful than the 4 stroke (remember though, I'm clueless with motors)

    Thanks,

    X-Cane

    2006 GTI

    Wow, I must have been looking at a SEA DOO EUROPE or MEXICO web page - probably $10,399 pesos! Heck, I would have been an easy sell when the salesperson would have told me $7,599! Geez.

    So the questions continue....

    What kind of pulling power would the 2006 GTI (that sells for $7,599) have - Would it pull a 270 lb (and good looking 270 lb'er I might add) on ski's?

    Also, how would top speed compare to GTI vs RXT?

    Thanks a million for the help so far!

    the 06 GTI, NOT GTX... as Rafi mentioned, msrp is 7600 on it.... si negotiate for a new 06 ski for low 7s and u'll have the yellow/white GTI 4-tec with 130 HP.... MUCH faster acceleration and speed than the 2-stroke 110hp

    the GTX/RXT machines are more expensive bc of it's a whole lot more machine... heavier bigger hull, storage, features, etc...

    pick your poison... u jsut wanna cheaply and reliably get on the water, then get an 06 GTI or GTI SE. the "SE" is the sportier model with color scheme and mirrors and reboarding step and tow hook, etc...

    I looked to see where you were located, but a bit too far! lol... i work at a Seadoo dealership in NY, would have tried to help you out a bit.

    GTI = 130 HP
    RXT = 215 HP

    BIG price different... BIG power difference

    approximation 56mph vs 66 mph machines

    if u want to tow, u need GTI SE... the GTI doesn't haev the tow hook for towing people, the SE does, and also has few other bells and whistles

    Don't look at any other machines in the Seadoo lineup except for:

    GTI SE = 130 hp
    GTX = 155hp <-- also comes in a wakeboard edition with ski pylon and wakeboard rack
    RXT = 215 hp

    Pulling Power

    The decsion is getting closer/clearer! I have one main question for anyone that owns a 2006 GTI 130 HP vessel or might have a point of reference:

    What pulling capabilities does it have? Would it pull a 270 lb'er on skis, if not, what about a 150 lb'er? Also, if it get someone up, could they go fast enough to have any fun?

    I'm thinking it may be ok for at least pulling tubes or wake boarders, but I'm just not sure.

    Thanks again!

    it will be a minor strugle with 270 lb person, but could be done after practice and getting used to it. the machine will be highly persauded by the heavy skier. speed... don't worry about that. yuo'll be able to go faster than any skier would like to go.

    will pull a 150 lb rider piece of cake.. and will pull tubes and whatnot no problem. you will feel it behind you no doubt! but it will work.

    if you are looking at the GTIs... just make sure you get the SE model... for a few hundred bucks more you get tow hook, reboarding step, the color scheme, mirrors... about 8k

    if you want to step it up to a larger, more stable, LITTLE more power.. the GTX 155 HP (low $9k range) has more storage, is a bigger machine, and a little more pulling power for that 270 lb rider... and of course there is the Wakeboard model that has the towing gadets like the pylon and wakeboard rack and a pretty sharp looking color/graphic scheme... but of course than you are looking at 10K+
