Question Help with diagnosing power loss in 3D

I have a 2004 Sea-Doo 3D which I brought new 14 months ago (Was sitting on the showroom floor for a while). Up till now has run like a dream.

The last 2 times I have been out have noticed like a infrequent miss in the mid-throttle range. Increase or drop the throttle and it goes away. Put new plugs in which made no difference.

Last time I was out (with the new plugs) whenever I did a hard left turn at high throttle there was a large power loss/drop in revs, to the point where it felt like was going to stall. Did not happen on hard right, just hard left turns. This happened every time I did a hard left at high throttle.

Yesterday I hooked it up to the water hose but was not able to replicate problem on the trailer.

    Is it;
1/ Blocked/dirty injectors? If so can I use a car-type fuel injection cleaner fliud?
2/ The manual indicates this model has OPAS, which works by briefly increasing the revs to around 4000rpm when turning and releasing the throttle. I have never noticed this to work before. Is the OPAS malfunctioning and how can I adjust/test this? (suspect this is not the case as couldnt replicate problem on the trailer)
    3/ Something else altogether??

Would appreciate any comments/suggestions (constructive )

    Cheers
    Jas

That has been a complaint from day one with the 800 RFI motor in the 3D,the problem is the pump is too big.

The pump is the big pump from the 951 motored skis & it puts too much load on the engine in hard left turns.

Installing a Solas 10/16 impeller for the 3D is a BIG help with that problem.

Thankyou for the reply waterworx. Will look into that.

Would the 10/16 prop drop the top speed? I assume that if the 10/16 increases torque, the top speed would drop.

    Cheers

I never rode one stock, just rode it after I installed the impeller, dont know if it lost top speed or not.

Its a 3D...how fast should it go ?? They werent that fast to begin with.

Me too! The 951 is much better.

If it had a 1300 in there...that would be the ticket...

You know better than this Dan, anyone who has read the PWCSomeday boards is to use the g word to describe the 3D
