Rude controller ? LM 1 ?
How does the Rude controller work ? What are the benefits of having one ? Are the A/F ratios adjustable through the rude controller ? Do you still need a LM 1 to get the read out ? TIA

LM 1 is a type of AF meter
the controller lets u adjust fuel which changes your mixture and will give you better AF readings on the LM1/ The rude controller piggy backs the ECU via MAPS sensor and Cam position sensor and you can add or take away fuel with the controller IF you have the software and cable.. otherwise bttek is the programmer for the mapping
if u are running a proven typical setup, then you can get away with just using a proven map in the controller.
if u will be modding and adding and upgrading constantly then get an AF meter, those are your eyes into the motor to see how safe the mixture is lean/rich

i have a rude controler sitting on my shelf waiting 4 the bigger charger.... it is currently programed 4 the rude charger and rotax ecu ...i think i am going to be going with a riva ecu... and either a rude or a c kit ..how do i get ahold of the cable and software ...i am looking at it like a power commander on my bike... i am sure it can b progranmed for the c kit...if the c kit holds up... i am leaning that way...and if someone will let that happen ...if not.... how about the r&d programmer??? is it about the same ???? i had a miata with a turbo and didnt really like the rising rate fuel pressure it took a second to react went lean the took off i would rather have it in the map...

I believe you can get the cable and software from Brian, however you would be on your own for the maps to program into your controller.

on the software does it show you a graph and + - at a given rpm ant tp....if it showes the current map you can adjust from there

I never did purchase the cable or software, I changed my setup and did not need the controller. If you PM or call Brian at BTtech I am sure he will be able to advise. I opted on mine when I was using it to just have Brian modify the programming, did not want to make the wrong adjustments.
