    1050 Cdi I.d.

I'm hoping you guys could help me understand this CDI better. In a previous post, Al mentioned identifying 1050 Hot seat CDI by color of writing. Is that the color of the printing on the PVL label or somewhere else? Are the different octane requirements because of a" performance kit"( cylinder heads) or just because the timing is recurved? Thanks

The color of stripe on the chips sitting on top of the CDI are the colors I'm refering to, silver is 92 octane, green is race fuel.
These chips are what carry the timing curve, one per cylinder and of course the reason there are 3 on the CDI. They are replaceable if you happen to have both sets.
I have the timing curve specs for the silver chips only.

Thanks Al & 97SLTX. Just trying to figure out how Hot Seat did things/if CDI was specific to engine mods. What do you think will happen with a stock compression engine? I was hoping to get an additional 2-300 rpm's.

It will certainly raise the RPM limiter and get you up to speed quicker, you want 200 RPM I think you're going to need another impeller or impeller massage??
