Boat Forum Cherry Pop'd!
Any jet boat owner out there? What do you have and where do you ride?
I got a clean 01 XR1800 with light engine mod's (jetting, flame arrestors, d-plate, cat chips. Just install a bimini top and ready for spring cruising in Northern & middle Va.

My 00 Xr is running sbn 44's off 99 gp1200's on protec intakes.
Reed spacers, pod arrestors and D plates are the only other changes.
Its still a heavy boat, best speed is around 53 on gps

I had my heads milled slightly. I was thinking about having the nozzles angles machined to 5 degree's.

I have an 02 LX 2000. Went 50 stock but now 53.6 gps with Group K 91 milled heads and their Solas props. I previously owned an Exciter with the full Group K sleeper. It was very quick and topped out at 60gps.

I have a 270exciter, both moters with 40 over boar, weisco forged ported pistons, riva heads, riva carbs, riva cdi's(blue box),solas x props stager pitched, custom ride plates, quad fuel pickups, Head temp sensors, and tiny tachs on both.
I broke a reverse cone this summer and have not had a chance to fix it, but before it was broke we were turning 63.4 @ 7500rpm#1/ 7200rpm#2.

I have an XR1800 that I purchased new in 2000. I added D-plates, Riva flame arrestors, power valve clips and couplers, adjustable highs and lows but no jetting or pop-off changes. I also did my own version of a free flow exhaust that worked out real well. It gave it a great sound and it finally eliminated that 4K RPM bog that you somtimes get with these boats. Over the years I've refined and fixed the design problems to the point where it now reliably runs 57 on the GPS. I didn't realized untill after I bought the boat that Yamaha was selling them as a kit! I love it anyways.

I took the XR1800 to Ocean City Md. over the memorial day weekend. Rhode the inter coastal water ways and went to Secretes bar & grill on the water. Had a blast. I got the motors broken in and hopefully I'll get some speed runs with a gps in a week or two.
