If the starter is spinning but not turning the motor, your bendex is not engaging. I believe it has nothing to do with the CDI as the bendex works off of centrifical force. What i had to do with mine is remove the stator cover and spray it with some wd-40.

Make sure the battery is good and strong or the starter will not spin fast enough to create enough centrifugal force to drive the bendix out.

That would be the updated style already. My guess is weak battery from being cold. Charge it at 2 amps, winterize and store the battery indoors for the winter, charge it again at 2 amps halfway through the winter.

frick !!!!!!!!!! i charged it for the last 2 days , it says 12.5 on the mfd , but still wont pop out to catch , and well i used a 1/4 inch really long extension to push down on the top of the piston to atlest get a little fogging oil to move around but now i tryed the same thing the piston wont move

please tell me it wont move very good at 29 * out side , like the piston swelled up ,

i used a whole can of penzoil marine fogging oil

If the piston you are pushing down is the same one you may have bottomed out. (the crank may be in the position where that piston is ready to come back up) Take the plugs out and try turning the engine over by hand with the drive shaft. You may have to remove the shaft cover to get hold of it.
