Thread: R&D sponsons

Has anyone tried the sponsons from R&D?
They claim the design of their backing plate reduces water friction which gives you more top speed. I have been running the Riva plate with the 2 degree wedge and love the speed but don't like the loss of stability running the wedge with the plate causes. I'm wondering if the R&D sponsons would help?

Thanks for the replies. I'm not a cc racer. Like a lot of us, I'm just a top speed freak. When I said that I didn't like the loss of stability, I meant top end stability. Did it help/hurt your top speed? With the stock or Riva ride plate, the wedge gave me more speed (a little over 1 mph in my case)
Hey Socal..... Keep up the good work on your site. Not much offshore riding here in Richmond but I like checking out your site and picking up a few tips
