yeah..im not sure I could explain that for lack of resources myself. I just asked the friendly neighborhood NAPA guy, it sounded like he knew what he was talking about. And the other reason I bought castrol was because it was talked up so much on this forum...

Yes, Castrol is what we use, and I haven`t had any issues, was asking about castrol to an "Oil analyst" talking about comparitive oil brands, and he told me that. Why couldn`t we use a dif brand oil with the same api/sae certs?...PR...

    Just to add:

Castrol GTX oil is an API SM oil that`s GF-4 rated and it`s energy conserving, which would be impossible to pass the tests without friction modifiers...

any comments or info would be appreciated...PR...

I just stick with the BRP oil so I dont have to worry about this. Spending the extra 10 bucks per oil change is definitely worth it rather than spending the money to rebuild the supercharger clutch!

Thanks for replying, just for the record, I am not saying Castrol causes clutch failures. I`m just curious about this and what other brands with the same certs can be used, tha`s all!...PR...
