    Yami vs Sugar Sand

Does anybody know how the Yami does versus the Sugar Sand V-6 Mercury Jet set up? I've never seen nor ridden the Yami or SD but have messed around with the Sugar Sand. Great boat for 180's and the such BUT if there is any big water, stay off the 16 foot and under.

The Yamaha Exciter is the most similar to the smaller Sugar Sand boats. It's 17'6" and doesn't like the rough water either. A very flat bottom that will spin a full 360 if done right. Spins over 50mph are very violent. I've never ridden in a Sugar Sand but raced a few of them when I had my Exciter.

We visit large lakes that can get rough, that is why I bought an LX2000. 20ft with a little more vee and a much better ride in the chop but still spins around. Same 65U motors but gives up about 5mph to an Exciter.

How did the race go? I used to drive a Tango with the V-6 and that thing rocked!

I raced a 240 sugarsand XX, I think was on the side, red boat and looked real nice. I had 0 compression in one cylinder on my right motor and the SS just barley pulled me on top end. This was when I first bought my Exciter. Once I repaired my motor they didn't stand a chance. And when I did the Group K sleeper it wasn't even much fun. I would go hunting for Baja's. I recently raced a Seadoo 16 ft boat with the 240 in my LX and pulled him on the top end. Its all fun until I run into a modded 430hp Seadoo like Somefuns. Then I will get whipped good.
