Guys with UMI set ups... Help me out. Please.
Guys I bought my UMI set up about two months ago and just haven't installed it yet and wanted to get y'all thought on my situations first.
I put the Riva bar extension kit on and have since loved it, but I guess I haven't installed the UMI because I am afraid of it looking too racer like and losing some appearance. Also not sure on how it will ride.
Can y'all give me true thoughts on the before and after.
If ya had to do it again. basically everything.
Please be honest.
And yes I have the whole kit in the garage on the floor collecting dust.

Don't do it!!
how much you want for the whole kit? \/
LOL... jkjk. It seems alot of people delay the install and just keep ignoring the advice of going UMI, and once they do it they kick themselves for not doing it sooner. I couldn't tell ya. How much does the whole kit cost anyway from soup to nuts?

$500- $600 Bucks Just depends on were you get it.
Steve I ask, because I didn't like it on my GSX and that was the same steering system.

I personally think it looks much better than the stock setup...(but I'm biased... )...
It significantly changes your ride position and the way you handle your ski. In aggressive riding you're going to be up on the bars and really working. In cruising it pulls you farther forward so if you like to stretch out towards the back of your seat it will maybe stretch you a little more than you like...
Depending on your size it's also going to make your mirrors almost useless. I have to scoot down now to use them as it keeps me upright enough and pulls me far enough forward that it ruins my angle of sight to see behind me through the mirrors without moving...
I have it on my carbon fiber GSX (same setup) and I must say it feels much better on the RXP than the GSX...Just feels more sturdy and more right than it did on the GSX...For some reason my GSX feels like it pulls you too far forward on aggressive turning but it's not like thta at all on the RXP...

I love mine. It will take you 1 hour to get used to it. After that you will be in love with the setup.

Sirhc7897 as I said I didn't like it on my GSX, but since you have had both that gives me more of an Idea.

The only reason I havent put it on mine yet is because I want a sleeper
I have what appears to be a UMI setup on my zxi and i like the feel a lot better than the stock RXP one.

Austin...I know what you mean about the GSX. i have ridden stock steering GSX's and as compared to mine they just feel better...
I really don't have a good way to explain it other than on the RXP it just feels right and on the GSX it just seems to throw the balance out of whack for the overall ride...
But you've ride/rode a GS with it so you understand what I'm talking about there...
My CF GSX is Chris Frischettis's(sp?) old ski and let's just sya that when it runs...it's tossed me way more times than I care to remember...
