Exclamation HELP** Engine Mount Hull Repair

Ok so I pulled the motor out of my 04 RXP today, a ski that over the last season has had engine alignment/driveshaft issues. After the engine was removed I went to check each motor mount attached to the hull and it turns out that the starboard side mount is lose. The bolts were tight but the actual fiberglass around the mount is cracked allowing the mount to move up and down.

I read into the few posts that I could find about this topic but pretty much all I read was that it needs to be re-inforced. How is this done? Is this a major project or something that can be fixed with ease? How do you get it set so that the engine will align correctly?

Any and all information that can be shared would be appreciated. I'm probably going to be fixing this myself so details would be great.

Picutres below are of the hull starboard side with the mount unbolted..

    Thanks,
    ..KAP..

First you'll need to make a placement template. ( that means you should build a template that can be screwed to the hull as you place the bolts in the fiberglass and hold them secure as it cures and is in the same placement as the original) And Leave spots left and right of the repair so you can have a guide to build to. It's a good idea to put tape on the unrepaired area so resin can be easily removed by pulling the tape off. What a pain in the ass job...... good luck!

OK so basically I'm going to have to completely rebuild the mounting area for the engine mount..? Should the broken area be removed after making the "template"? then re-fiberglass the area with new thread inserts?

    Thanks,

    The Repair Begins

Ok so I dove right in today and started the project.. I'll be finishing tomorrow. I cut out the top section where the motor mount used to sit then cut out all the foam around the metal plate which the bolts thread into. (Sea Doo uses the foam to hold the mounting plate while the hull is glassed.) The only foam I left was under the metal plate. (Mounting plate was glued to foam/hull.) This saved me the trouble of having to make a template. I Then taped up the bolts, threaded them in about 1/4 of an inch, and began re-glassing the mount. This is what it all looks like. The fiberglass thats done so far is the bulk of it (where stregth come from), all thats left is just a top layer which the mount sets on.
