    head skimming, how much is to much ?

    does anyone know the maximum you can skim off the head, as ive got some slight damage when the piston went, cheers bill

    do u think a .010 pass would clean it up? If not, I don't think u can weld this aluminum/magneisium crap that the head and block are made of.

    You could do .020 if the .010 isn't enough and add two layers from your old head gasket to a new one.
    Lots of guys have been doing it to lower compression a bit.
