99 XPL closed course ski questions

hi everybody i recently got a 99 xpl and have started to build it into a closed course race ski but i can't find much on what is the fastest setup to run. At the moment i've done worx sponsons, solas impeller and stainless wearring, gripper seat cover, hydro turf, pro taper handlebars, k&n flame arrestors, carbontech reeds and a drd tinytach. And i've just rebuilt top and bottom the motor and carbs. So what I am asking is if anyone has anymore ideas on what I can do to beef it up more, I was thinking a coffmans single series exhaust, milling my head and lightening the fly wheel. and if anyone knows of a good aftermarket ignition system and rev limiter would be appreciated, having trouble finding any info on them.

It depends on what class you want to run,IE stock,Limited, or Open
Coffmans has a great pipe,it just need the right combo to make it run,Skat Trak pump is a must for Limited or Open and great set of Novi carbs,Novi also remaps the stock mpem for revlimit and timing curve, basically It depends on how much money you want to spend,You need to spend atleast 3-4 thousand to build a limited and 6-7 for and open boat, Stock is a fun class and sounds about like what you have there,I'd be glad to point you in the right direction

forgot to mention it is to be a limited boat. i'm thinking about ditching the oil injection and vts as well. i've heard that the little engines mods on the 951 can make a big difference.

If you like throwing money in the trash it might be worth it,they are junk. The stock rideplate is the best for a limited boat

Also I think pwctoday is better for 2 stroke tech. Bill O'Neal is a really knowlegable with 2 stroke sea doos.

Unfortunately you can't run the lightened flywheel in CC racing in a Limited setup. (APBA or IJSBA) Bill O'neil IS a really smart gut so what he said but Tweeker knows a thing or three also about an XPL too.

P.S. I know where you can find a 1050 Miller Limited setup, Rossier Head, Factory Twin Pipes and a remapped MPEM. PM me if you are looking.

    Where are you located

The only thing a 97 rideplate is good for is top speed not closed course racing
