We removed the dipsticks in all of ours, and put a plug, your blower shows the signs of over heating as well??? Were you running the smaller pully?

LOL, love the thread title! You'd think the "whine" would have gave it away.

Whooper - Very nice post with all the pics. Hear some rattling??????? Weird how that piece cracked. Bearing looks like it got pretty warm too. Belt too tight??

Can you post the bearing numbers and get a good clear close up of it since you have it open? Other side too please?

I must say that from what i've seen in pictures, the R&D hub and pulley look to be very good quality. If others come out with stuff, it will be tough to beat.

bearings NTK 6303 D7. I will have to look up what the D7 means. Both bearings all are sealed bearings.

Also, you will need a press to get the SC apart.

The Corp I work for(Eaton Corp.) has a division that make roots style blowers. I wish they would make me one that would be a replacement for this one. I just don't trust the quality that much. Everyone keeps finding broken dipsticks which makes me wanna pull mine and check. Eaton superchargers are supposed to be phenominal for aftermarket performance cars and currently power the new Caddy CTS-V and the new Vette ZR-1. I'll ask if they can me/us out!

yea I got one on my buick, they often outlast the motor (even being overdriven) and the 3800 motor was top 10 for the 90's. thats gotta say something.

what brand comes standard on the 250x?

I looked into this and found the Eaton would have spin more to deliver the same amount of air. Efficiency I am not sure how they compare. In the end I decided it was not worthe trouble to fab and a direct replacement would give what you have.

If you want to stay SC, KB or whipple is the way to go.

The difference between an Ogura and an EAton is the lobe design/rotors. In the end both are 4 bearings, 2 shafts, 2 gears, and a case.
