I am sorry but what kind of ski is it? any mods?
Was he going in a straight line or turning?
was he low on fuel?
This all plays in the answer.

the ski is an 03' 1300 R completely stock and was full of gas. perhaps 5 minutes after putting it in the water. Conditions that day were a bit choppy.

You have to check the battery connections, the ski is fuel injected and needs the battery for the fuel pump to work, other than that check the voltage regulator connections.Thats the piece on the side of the electrical box with the cooling fins, sometimes water or moisture can get in there and make connections corrode.Hope this helps

03+ have a tilt sensor that kills power when it leans to far, to prevent water intrusion when the ski goes over... its in the black box in the bow under the bucket .............. if you search i know theres a thread on how to rig it to bypass ........
