    12F..... Worth It?

    Hey all.

I am a Sea Doo guy, but I am looking at an 04 Kawi 12F for the wife.

What kind of top speeds should this ski see with stock set up?

What kind of mods are out there? What kind of top speeds will the ski see?

Thanks, I appreciate any info you guys can lend on the subject.

The 12F is a nice beginner ski. It is an amazing rough water hull. One of my buddies has one and he was keeping up with me in heavy chop even though on smooth water his (12F) does arround 55-57 mph and mine (GPR set up exclusively for smooth water) did 78MPH. So top speed is somewhere in the 55-57 MPH range on a stock 12F. As far as mods go, I dont think there are many out there if any at all. If you wanted something a little bit faster with the possibility of mods I would look at a 15F. Stock they run about 61 mph and can be as fast as 80+ with a supercharger. If you are just looking for a ski for your wife to go out on and have some fun, then the 12F is a great ski!

all of the parts for the 15f will work on the 12f. i have an 06 15 and love it. the only difference between the 2 is that you cant run as steep of an impeller. also the stroke is shorter, but pistons and everything are the same.

thanks for the replies. The one I am looking at is an 04'.

if the 15f mods fit, I am sure not ALL of them do, but which ones will?

I will let you know about that.

I need to get the ski first, but the wife went and looked at it today. Seems like she wants the Kawi. It may not be the fastest ski, but I am looking forward to having something to work on again.

Thanks for the help guys. This is what I love about the place. There is help for everyone no matter PWC of choice is.

    Okay...

From the looks of it. This is the mods I am looking at for the 12F

    Sponsons
    Intake Grate
    Ride Plate
    Pump Wedge
    Air Intake
    Free Flow Exhaust
    Iridium Plugs
    Fill Ride Plate Holes
    Exhaust Emission Block Offs

Should I upgrade the Prop? 12/18 Concord?

What is the deal with the reverse bracket??
