    RaceLogic.com -Porting templates?

I'm planning on doing a port job w/ the help of a friend, and found this site. Anybody ever hear anything or use thier products (port templates)?
They don't have a template for the 780 specifically, but said the 750 would be the same. After seeing this post, I think the 750 template would screw me up. http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/show...56&postcount=3

The link to the site... http://www.racelogic.com/shop/

Thanks for any thoughts or concerns.

I have heard mixed things about them, mainly on the X, but the majority was positive. If you have a good idea of the concepts and principals that you are attempting to duplicate, I think it's a good idea. Just realize that you will probably only get about 1/2 the power from them as you would from a pro doin it. Also, no way would a 750 template work on a 780 or vice versa. The 780's have a whole different exhaust port configuration and that would screw up everything.

I have a fair understanding of whats needed. I also know that the port heights (timing) and width differences between the 2 are mm's apart(which is huge). The friend thats willing to help me has experience w/ porting dirt bikes. And he feels comfortable w/ guiding me in doing the job. But I don't feel as comfortable to do the job. Dirt bikes around here generally want more low end torque, and thats where he has experience. I want more high end power, and I know the differences in porting is huge.
I really don't want to trial and error this, because I know that a bad port job could be disastrous. If I can't find proven porting specs for the 780, I'll polish things up for now, and pay a professional to do it next yr. There is no way I can get the budget manager to ok it this yr. But I'd really love to get the experience to be able to do it myself.
    Thanks for the input guys.

How about purchasing a second set of cylinders over the Winter while prices are right and you have time to price shop. Try the porting yourself and see where you wind up, with the knowledge you might do it all wrong.
I'm sure even the PRO's bought a few cylinders on their way to being good.

I'd be willing to give it a try if I had spare jugs to play with. I have not seen 780 jugs on ebay lately.
