    My new project.

I just got handed down from my brother in law 2 96 polaris slx 780 with a trailor, yes they need work. 1 has 35 hours wont start, the other needs a stator, I'll get some pics. I'm new to this the old lady is thinking sell them and buy a new one. But I see potential are 780s good engines. Would I be wasting my time? I got them for free.

I don't think it'll be a waste of time. The helpful folks here will get you riding them in no time! Getting them for free is a steal! I say go for it!
BTW the 780's are great. You'll enjoy them.

If you decide to part them out, I'll buy a set of cylinders and heads. Perhaps both sets Come to think of it, I may need more parts too! I may screw something up.

That's a sweet deal. I'll take two more SLX 780's if they are free any day.

    new pics

The first ski is the one that needs the stator the second is more complete. I had to spray the front box and the trailor cuz it had alot of surface rust, but it needs all new lights, I only put a new jack cuz lifting it on and off the truck was hurting my back the old one didn't work any more. So what do u all think?

    Post bigger (higher resolution) pictures.
Looks good, but can't really see much detail.

New seat covers needed, for sure!
If you plan to store the skis outside, keep your eyes open for new Polaris SL covers. Every so often some nice ones pop up.

Watch the classifieds here, and watch eBay.

    Thumbs up

Very nice,Looks like you have 2 good skis to start with. Both have aftermarket Ocean Pro Air Cleaners on them.So someone did a little performance boosting already. One of the first things you wanta do is go completely thru the fuel systems. From empty the tanks and cleaning, checking the sending units, hoses, fuel seperator, cleaning and check carbs, and installing triple outlet fuel pumps(if they don't have them already). Then you'll have a good and known starting point for getting everything else up to snuff.(and all that cost is elbow grease, except the pumps)A little Marine vinyl off E-bay will Get your seats looking Great again. Keep us posted and we'll have you flying across the water in no time...Unless it's Frozen.
