    Thumbs up

I use "large "needle nose pliers and start one side of the clip in, then open the pliers up with one tip top of clip and other end on bottom of piston below pin hole put one clip in piston on the bench for practice too. Important note DO NOT try to use diffrent clips than the ones that came with the piston. The retaining grooves are cut diffrent for diffrent style clips even though they look the same. Mis-match clips and pistons will end in the clip coming out and causing sever engine damage! Tommy

I turn the clip 90 deg from the bore and then push and sqeeze at the same time.
The clip will go in far enough to fully compress then using the wrist pin as a stop rotate the clip back the 90 deg into the groove.
First rebuilt motor I had was a SBT rebuild and had the clips you use pliers on next couple of builds the clips were a pain because I was using pliers and the wire retainer clips would want to take off.
Then I found the finger method worked realy well

I push the split end of the ring in first at close to 90 degree angle until it hits the pin then rotate with my thumb until it clicks in the land.

A lttle tip for the other side of the piston pin when installing the "Jesus" clip .I start the wire over the groove and peel it in with the help of a small flat screw driver .That way the next person can get the clip out with out sticking themselves .

    Cheers
