Is it excessive to replace the rings every season?

I read a post, where one forum member replaced his rings on the 1300 every season. Sounds like a good idea since the rings are pretty cheap. My '03 has 76 hrs on the clock; 46 done this season.
Just a thought while my mind sits idle looking for winter projects during this cold weather.

Check your compression. I wouldn't put myself through that pain unless compression and performance are down. Put some v-force reeds in it.

Every season is a little extreme. On a modded boat I replace the topend every 150-200 hours including the wrist pin bearings due to heat. A stock one should be able to run 300 without issues.

Your not even close to needing rings. I've got 125 hours since my rebuild, compression is barely down - almost negligable
