whats happening in my driveshaft tunnel?

Take a look at this photos where the driveshaft slides in. Long before the hose, there is a black substance like a seal thats rubbing my driveshaft.

Whats needed to repair this ?

The soft rubber hose that goes from the tunnel to the carrier bearing is collapsing and rubbing on the driveshaft. We usually replace with a stronger Gates hose.

There isn't any seal there, only at the midshaft. Its just build up from the hose wearing IMO.

A pretty blue one, its 2" silicon turbo hose. 6 layers thick and much simpler to put on.
