Need Help on 02 virage 700cc

Hey guys, I need some help troubleshooting my 02 virage. I had a problem fouling out one of my plugs, so I took it to the dealer and they said that it ran fine. Then i put it back in the water, and then there was this crazy virbation and the ski went dead. I took it home and found out that the same cylinder that was fouling out my plugs now has no/low 12 psi compression. The other cyliner has 125psi compression. I guess my next step would be to remove the head and perform a visual inspection. Any tips or advice???

    Hello Jeff!

Welcome to the Green Hulk Forums!!

Can you give us more background about the ski? Hours, anything odd happen when this problem first occurred? Have you ever cleaned/inspect the carbs?

Definitely sound like a bad cylinder, probably due to lean condition. Maybe an issue in the fuel system or an air leak.

You should check the crank index before you tear it apart to verify that the there are no issues with it. You are probably looking at a top end rebuild. If you have some mechanical ability there are plenty of great guys around here to walk you through the rebuild.

Let us know what you find.

Hi jeff, I'd also like to say WELCOME!!
Is your ride injected or carbed?
With the compression that low, you need to pull the head and see what's broken.

Welcome to the HULK!!!!!!!!!! I would guess you have a bad ring. It is time for a top end rebuild. Not very diffcult. Everyone here will be glad to help. Just tear into it and see what you can find.

No need to be sorry, I don't own a dealership anymore.

    Thanks guys

I have found the right place. My ski has 79 hours on it, and the only thing that acted werid, was fouling out my plugs really fast, like forty minutes or so. What is a crank index?
