    extreme noobie question

impulse buy.... 2 SL750's *1995* with rebuilt motors (have shop bills to prove) with dual trailer for $2500. Really motivated seller and it's a foot of snow here

anyhow. before I go and make the purchase, can anyone tell me where I find the HIN for these pwc? I want to make sure all the T's and cross and the I's are dotted before putting the $ out.

    thanks in advance,
    John

Right rear of the boat just under the bond rail, it starts PLE and the last 2 digits will show you the year.

Hmmm, I thought the Polaris PWC HIN number plate was always above the bond rail on the rear deck.

There MAY be a second copy of the HIN plate inside the hull, although the location varied, and I don't recall where it was, or if it even existed, on the '95 SL. In any case, if you are worried about fraudulent HIN, examine the HIN plate rivets. If the rivets look too newish, then look for that second HIN inside (front hull under the storage bin, or under the battery, perhaps...). Also check the Polaris Certificate of Origin document, see that the numbers match, and that the names listed on the back match the seller's story.

Are you going to assume the motors are good?
Do you know if the boats were winterized?

If so, you should still give the rest of each boat a good looking over. Best as you can, given the snow, of course. Look for missing parts, hull cracks, damaged jet pump or impeller/stator, etc.

If you can post some pictures, or even get the trailer indoors somewhere, we can comment on anything we notice that doesn't look quite right.

You're right. I knew what I meant to say, it just didn't get from head to the key board quite right.

    No problem!

Do you happen to recall whether there is a second HIN plate inside those 1995 hulls?
    And where?

    thanks

thanks for the headsup... I do see a place where a plate about 5 inches by 3/4 inches should be with 2 rivet holes.... unfortunately it is not there. The hidden HIN would be good to find.

the engines look good and did start up fine (they were winterized so I guess I'll need to do that again) the impeller looks fine and everything seems to be in working order. Hull is a little dirty but I see no cracks or major scuffs.

As memory serves me right, there's another HIN just under the front of the engine bed plate or the rear of the fuel tank. And possibly even under the battery box.

On the 95 SL's there is a second HIN up front on the left side Inside the hull. Just in front of the motor mount. It was between the engine and tank on Mine.See pictures below..next post.
