What's the appeal of pickup trucks? *cough*rocket*cough*

What's the appeal of a pickup for your daily driver?

I have my CTD because it's versatile and functional. It's gets 20+mpg, can run on a variety of fuels, and I'm comfortable pulling a trailer 700+ miles a weekend during the summer in it.

I would drive a car with tons of uncessary features if I had the money to have an additional vehicle (or didnt have any toys to tow around/work on)

What reasons do you drive a pickup?

I actually have the urge to buy one of those Toyota Scions, you know, the ones that look like a box on wheels. The gas mileage would certainly be better than my Tacoma!

Who would look at one and think it runs 11's?

I can be faster than a lot of other cars on the road and still tow a boat, a ski, trailer full of 4 wheelers.

    THAT"s the appeal to me.

I have thought about getting one, price is rediculously cheap and made by toyota...gas mileage cant be all that great...Pushing a box through the air...

We just got my wife a MINI Cooper. I'd like to put a hitch ont hat but she said not no, but HELL no.

My truck get's about 12mpg (when it had a motor in it), and the MINI gets 28. I think it would tow it, but coming up the ramp would concern me.
