    Went riding today

Anyone know where I can find a on-line manual or PDF version of a service manual for my 1997 XLT special? Basically any Polaris Indy manual will work. Rode the sled six hours today and now it clunking like I got a stick stuck in the track. Checked everything and adjusted the track and still does it. Probably needs to have bearings or something replaced. I have been on some sled forums and none of them have a tech section like ours. green hulk rules

Bahahahha joke of the year right?????

Yes, we're working on it... trying to get some of the old-school gurus to commit and put stuff down on the net/paper is a task in itself.

The belt is your most likely cause... but a tooth on a drive cog could be it as well, or a torn track flapping around.

How fast is the clunking in relation to track speed? Does it clunk only when the primary is engaged and the drivetrain is moving or all the time?

Well the track is 2 years old and in excellent condition and the belt is almost new. It does sound like it's coming from the cogs / driveshaft. The noise is coming from the left side. I grease the jack shaft bearing ever year when I do the suspension and steering. I may tear everything out and change everything.
