Hey all, haven't been on much, the motherboard in my gf's computer melted down, so haven't been able to get on much. I just recently bought my MSX as all of you know pretty much, thought about buyin a motocross style helmet. I figured goin 70 in a boat is safe, goin 70 a foot off the water is a lil scary if I get thrown off? Any thoughts on a motocross style helmet? I know the racers use them, just haven't seen anybody around here with one!! Don't wanna look like the dumbass who looks paranoid!!! Maybe I'll sucker Keddano into wearin one too!!

A couple of months ago, my brother decided to take a duck in the face at 55+. If he hadn't been wearing his helmet, would have been serious injury or more. Have heard of people drowning because of this. They get knocked out and then drown. We have never been huge advocates of helmets until this incident. Just seemed to pound the idea into his head a little bit. Not to mention, a good helmet on a fast ski makes for good photos.

Here's a thread that covered it some a few monthes ago.
If I start pushing some higher speeds on the PSI, It's something I'll be looking at. Especially on the Busy weekends on the Rev.
I've never cared really what someone thinks of me when it comes to protecting myself.
The kids use to think I was weird for using and wrapping magazines around our shins playing Pond Hockey...Till they took some heavy wacks on their's by bigger kids.

I also have an MSX 150...and wear a helmet, when the occasion demands it.
Got a Polaris helmet on eBay for $25, plus $14 shipping.

Nobody will give the helmet a second thought during the Winter and it will certainly help keep you warm.

What kind of helmets are you guys buying? Looks mostly like MX helmets. I can't find anything PWC specific in a MX style. I ask because it seems to me that the lining in most helmets will retain water and rot after awhile (maybe retain an odor too). Is there a specific lining you guys use or do you just pull the lining out after a ride and dry it out well?

Also you don't weant a peak on your protection helmet as it rips your head around when you hit the water .The close fitting helmet is best stops ear drums being burst and when you face plant the pain is alot less as you usually turn your head with out realising it

this is what I use for screwing around.
my racing helmet is a little more stout, but I don't have a pic of it. its a lazer wet stream, with a street shield on it. .
If I am just going out to fart around, I usually dont wear a hat.
if i am going out to do mild laps or freeride on the sj, I wear the fly, which has the visor removed.
If I am going to do serious laps on the sj or just about anything on the cane, I wear the lazer. ....
As my cousin from arkansas sez, If it weren't for my helmet, I'de have even less teeth.
