    Mount for GPS

Anyone who has a Garmin eTrex GPS, what mount do you use to get it on the ski and any pics? I might be a tart, but I cannot find the accessories on the Garmin site.

I bought the Legend. Cheap, only 120 bucks so I won't have a heart attack if I lose it in the lake. It does everything I want. Top speed for the skis and sleds, and maybe I won't get lost snowmobiling anymore

    Thanks for any help.

Suprisingly the bike mount works very well also. Problem is you need allot of extra room on the bars.

Thanks for the replies. The ram mount is 33, while the Garmin is only 10. But the ram mount looks very sturdy. Think I am going to order one. They have a ton of mounts for anything you can think of. Pretty neat place.

I got a ram mount for my motorcycle and they are very sturdy, just get the more expensive ones. The cheaper one are made of plastic and the more expensive one are made of aluminum.

an xtra 14 bucks for the aluminum ball mount is probably worth it too. That note says the one that comes with the unit is NOT rustproof.

I have been using garmin etrex gps for 5 years on four wheelers for maping. I have gone thru several mounts and the only problem is that after alot of rough riding the rubber ball will eventually break and come off. For gps on my skis I have been using the leather case and attach it to my life jacket. Yesterday I even just attached the leather case belt clip to the hood of my rxp right in front of the stearing and it worked just fine for measuring top speeds.

Or you can do the super clean way and get a 4- 5 inch stainless hose clamp

enough roof to move the bars and open the hood - see both guages - and catch massive amounts of air.

Can you post a closeup photo on how the mounting is under the bars? This setup has to be one of the slickest setup I have seen.

I ended up taking my legend back. It developed a line in the screen. Now I order just an etrex H. It has some high intensity antennae, which after asking some of the guys I snowmobile with in the UP (MI) they said it helps while we are in the woods to maintain a signal. Found that at walmart.com for 80 bucks shipped.

I also would love to see some close ups of that mount. How and what is it attached too? I like that, defintely slick looking. I will take pictures once I get mine and order a mount and hook it up.
