    We are still going . . .

    This from the PWC Today site...

    Here is the latest tally:
    I've added notes about who has a GPS and/or VHF

    When:
    June 24 9:30am departure time from Long Beach, launch in time to
    be ready to head out to sea at 9:30.

    Take a leisurely hour and a half riding to Avalon (this is not a race)
    Take two hours in Avalon for lunch, gas up, snorkel, whatever
    Take an hour or so to return to Long Beach
    Retrieve boats about 2pm back in Long Beach

    Where: South Shore Launch Ramp- 590 Queensway Dr., Long Beach. Small
    boat launch ramp located near the Queen Mary on Queensway Drive.
    This facility is open 24 hours per day. There is a flush station. (Thanks
    jmsgen for this data).

    Tie up to bouys in Avalon Harbor for $22 each or tie up to one of the
    five dingy docks for free.

    Who:
    Danketchpel and wife - 2 skis
    Honda Guy (and wife? one ski or two?)
    al03sc - promised to buy a GPS
    msowers1 - GPS
    jmsgen - 3 to 6 skis
    jdonalds (me) - 1 ski GPS and VHF
    gtlegacy if he can get his ski fixed - 1 ski
    jacques77 GPS and two or three friends - 3 or 4 skis
    west_coaster and 5 buddies - 6 skis
    Fossilfuelburner from San Jose - 1 ski
    Jammer 1 - 1 ski
    joemama422 - 1 ski GPS AND VHF
    rbi and Curk - 2 skis

    GPS = 5
    VHF = 2
    PWC = max 28

    I certainly don't expect 28 PWC to show up that morning but 10-15 would be great fun.

    What: Things to bring for a 50 mile ocean trip:
    A tow hoop on the front of your ski, A helmet, GPS, VHF Radio, Anchor, Water, License, Cell phone, Tow rope, Towel, Full tank of gas, Cash for lunch in Avalon, Flares, Gloves, Hat, Sun glasses, Sunscreen, Camera, Booties/shoes, A wet suit, Life Jacket, Whistle, Fire extinguisher, Snorkel/fins/mask, A towing card, A passenger if you like but it's best to ride alone.
    A smile

    Why: For fun!

    How: Everybody shows up at Long Beach, launch skis, blast to Catalina!
