    I have a RXP 215 should i get a rxp-x

    Hi,

I already have a 2005 rxp with 70 hours on it. I have yet to see a rxp-x in this part of the world (NQ Australia).

Should i look at buying a rxp-x? Are they that much better, or are the any better at all for that matter?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you in advanced.

    Ross

Stock versus stock the RXP 215 and the RXP-X will have about the same top speed. Difference is acceleration and hookup. The RXP-X will be able to keep up with a Riva Stage 3 RXP 215 until 50mph (per Green Hulk's test ride). The RXP-X will also have a wider intake grate area and a scoop grate, so hookup in chop will be much better with the RXP-X.

So it depends on your taste and plans. If you want to leave your ski stock then the RXP-X will be the better choice, but for the difference in price I could take a RXP 215 and have it going 75mph (custom stage 2 not Riva's kit for price).

I hope it will be the dominate ski, with a new ecu, new prop, ect and some tuning it will be the ski to beat.

Remember it doesn't matter about the ECU and all that extra....

It is the same dang motor. You can only do so much with it in a 215hp rxp or a 255x model. If Riva gets 295hp out of a stage III RXP then they can only get 295 out of the X boat with the same stuff.

You can only give this motor so much boost. Period. On a Standard RXP or X.

That being said I like the X model more.

Yep, and they will still use the same Motor. All mods will work on both skis.

I thought the SC was different? Not just a different wheel or machined housing, I thought it was actually larger or something? Maybe not?

Yes, But remember it will still be able to go on a standard 215hp RXP. Or the standard 215hp model can upgrade to a Bigger SCer like on the new X boats. (Use a STG III, B kit, Rude) No real majic.
