    I run without opas and have installed the cheap riva hole covers.
    I had RE Blockoffs installed but decided to sell them to get a new prop so I installed the cheap riva hole covers and could not tell a difference in handling. I did install skegs, though. ATC2006 runs without skegs or block offs and I cannot tell any handling difference.

    it all depends how fast you plan on making it go....i had the cheap covers that came with the pirahna ic kit installed untill my re's came in.... as soon as my ski hit 72mph it started to porpoise really bad, but stopped once i put the re's on ....they are a must have for highly modified RXT's....just my $.02

    I purchased the RE block-offs after all the thread reading on this site. I am very impressed with their build quality.

    My RXT-X is due in early next year, February from what I'm hearing at the moment, at which time I plan on installing the RE's, getting her broken in correctly and then doing some proven speed modifications after that.

    I would like to hit 75 plus. Just anxious to see what these aftermarket tuners have for it. Later, Jon

    Thanks for all the replies.

    A coupla more questions though...

    Lafjax, no porpoising at 73+...due to the skegs?...act2006 doesn't run skegs...is his ski as fast? Does his ski "track" as well as yours in the rough?

    Rocko672, you had porposing going on at 72...did you have skegs at the time? Was this porposing going on at wot in the rough?

    Just curious...I hate working backwards is all...especially if it involves cutting into my hull.

    Last question....in the rough...everybody prefers no opas...even without bo's?

    No, no porposing what so ever. ATC2006 has no skegs and has no porposing too. Until you reach 76+ I don't think it's a problem. So far as hooking up in chop, I still could not tell any improvement with the RE's. I have a riva gate and it stays glued to the water...

    Get the OPAS off...

    for me(in order):
    OPAS=unpredictable handling at speed.
    Standard B/Os=better handling/more predictable
    As I started going faster=porposing at around 72 mph
    Added Skegs= helped a little with ole Bouncybounce, but aided handling
    Added REs= Eliminated Bouncybounce, I'm still amazed what two little overpriced pieces of aluminum will do.
