    air intake

Ok guys, I know that the stock gpr has serious airflow issues in stock form. Has anyone tried doubling up on the 4" intake hoses? It looks like there is enough room under the black airboxes for another set. I know about the front bucket/visor holes. Just looking for a more factory approach.

    Talk to me. . .

oh, ok. YOu opened up the holes in the black airboxes under the gold to match the openings in the gold cowls?

What I am refering to is actually removing the cowls and teh airboxes,a nd drilling 2 new 4" holes so that there are 4 big black hoses feeding air into the hull.

I don't think the square inch area under the cowlings or any mod done to the hood would support that increased area of volume. Some sort of change would have to be done to the cowling itself IMO.

Well, I have the airboxes off, and although it's tight, there is enough room for another set of elbows. My main concern is structural integrety of the steering tower. I already opened up the black airboxes so that the air that gets in inder the fairings is unobstructed.

I don't want to swisscheese the front bucket, and I also don,t want to have gaping holes in the hull where it will sink instantly if it rolls over.

    ...just thinking out loud...

GOOD THINKING... That's how things happen!
I made a "baffle out of fiberglass, Cardboard, and resin (body filler type), That replaces My Bucket for Racedays. It is basicly like the one riva sells that is carbon fiber, but cheaper. It works well because it seals around the seal where the bucket would be.
I can't find it right now. and my little one is giving me Heck so I have to run..

Last season I played with air a little and found very small changes despite the mods.

I saw no changes with the seat off alltogether.

i see 20-30rpms more and about 3tenths faster with the seat off. as far as my bucket no holes in it when it is time to race i just take it out. took the front hood off and gained 40 rpms and about 1/2mile but, that was just to see results
