    Quick pump wedge question.

Got a pump wedge for Christmas and I am going to put it in this weekend. My question is, is there a specific silicone sealer to use on the pump or just use any automotive silicone sealer. Does it have to be marine sealer?

I always use permatex ultra-black silicone from auto store...It does not have to be marine sealer.

the pump wedge and the trim work sort of the same... but are different the wedge angles the pump up ....which inadvertantly trims the boat up 2 or 2.5 degrees up.....but that isnt its purpose ... it is designed to make the jet of water coming out of the back of the ski straighter......by alighning the pump and back of the ski....the straighter shot the water comming out of the pump... less deflection = more speed.....the trim deflects the water to trim the boat up or down ..by installing the wedge it put your lowest possible trim angle 2 or 2.5 degrees farther up.....which inturn or trimed the boat up 2 or 2.5 degrees ...you need use the rod to get the lowest possible trim angle (bow down) back to stock for the best turning and out of the hole acceleration....it is slightly longer ..you can ride it without it dont worry but it will come out of the hole better with it ......jerry sells them on the sites store.... someday i will learn how to put a link

just looked closer at the pic.... if you have an rxt ...you dont have trim and the holeshot rod does not apply.. on an rxt it trims the boat up a little and alighns the pump giving you a little better speed
