Looking for info on NORTHEAST snowmobile rentals
The girlfriend and I are taking a weekend get-away at the end of January, and we are looking at taking some snowmobile tours and renting and spending a day or two on some trails and renting a little cottage or cabin or something... something a bit quieter and calmer than the likes of life at home on long island.
I've found several websites and stuff, was wondering if anyone already had any experience of doing so up in the Northeast?
We're in Long Island... looking to travel maybe central NY, vermont, new hampshire... something like that.. about 5 hours each way limit give or take
any tips or suggestions on snowmobiling hot-spots?

I have a few members from up that way, and some personal friends. I'll get some info for you no problem.
Tug Hill is the place to be up there, BTW.

Tug Hill is one of the places at the top of my list from the searching i've done so far on the net...
anything else to do in the area? we'll head up on a friday night and look to head back home either sunday night or monday night. i probably wouldn't do back-to-back full day tours or anything all 2 or three days in a row, but maybe one full-day gig and another day just a couple hour thing, dont know what else there would be to do tho. ski resorts in the area with snow tubing or anything? ... i'm a skiier and boarder but she's not at all so that's outta the question.
any information you can offer is greatly appreciated!
any package rates, or good places to stay for lodging, anything you can point me in the right direction to.

Depending where you go up here in the Tug Hill area your about 10-30 min. from me. Great area to ride and some trails go up to the River also. Not much to do but snow ski or ride the trails in that area or go to Syracuse. If you want to ride and relax that is the area away from everything.

Might be to far for you, but here are some other options then Tug.
Check Jackman Maine.
Jackman area is my favorite place to sled.
Jackman trail system and Moosehead lake area system is awesome on sleds. The logging roads up in the mountains are like super highways for sleds in a pristine winter countryside.
The best in the East coast imho.
At night you can cross over the Canadian border on the sleds and do the girly bars in Quebec... oh ya, your with the gf
Pittsburg NH, the Twin Mountain area, Colebrook, Rangeley , Eustis , is good also but Jackman is the best imo
I will be going up to Jackman next month to do some sledding. Time to get out of this Fl heat and see some snow!
