Hi There I have a 06 RXT and it has suddenly lost power. Top speed about 45 mph and revs out at 6300 RPMs max. Do you think the clutch is slipping? I have checked the Fuel filter ( as it was running low at the time ) and changed the plugs but still seems to be having the same problem. I have taken the intake off the SC and There is no way I can turn it by hand. Do you think this is my problem? Also are there instructions on how to check and adjust/replace? Thanks for your help as I am in New Zealand and there arent too many specialists over here.

I hate to say it, but those are the classic symptoms of an SC failure. The Only way to be certain is to take the SC out and inspect it. If one or both of the washers are gone, you know for sure. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. If you need help diagnosing the problem, post some pics of the SC after you take it out and we can tell you what needs to be done.

Hi there. Yep its the SC........ Bugger!!!!!!! I took the intake off and turned the impellar nut and it turned easily now turns by hand. It also has a burnt smell from the sc area. I take it the engine has to come out and everything be checked and drained. Is there anything else I have to make sure the shop does???????

Oil pumps need to be inspected and probably replaced. I would also have them split the cases and clean out the bottom end and the oil passages. Hopefully you are still under warranty.

Font jump to the worst case senerio just yet. I had a similar problem with a stage 1 RXP. Changed the moddle coil and took off BOV and put on stock hose and it was running even stronger than before. The middle coil had a crack. Good luck bud and hope its not the washers.
