The resistence would need to be the same. I think 30 ohm is full and 240 ohm is empty. Usually it's the float that fails before the gauge does, what's your problem? Since I went the way of the MFD, you can prob have my old gauge if that's what you really need.

I have a new Polaris fuel guage with wires. The problem with All Polaris fuel guages(seperate units),they work on 2.5 volts, you need a voltage regulator. If the 12volt is cheap enough,it would be easier to wire up.

Neal, doesn't your ski have reserve? A polaris fuel gauge should work fine. I switched from a gauge to a MFD with no problem. Can't see why you couldn't go from MFD to gauge.

If you have a fuel guage, all you need is this voltage regulator (LR-52 or 4060110) You should be able to add it to your electrical box, seperate from regulator for charging system. It has an extra orange wire to power up the bilge pump, just tape it up if you don't have a bilge pump.

You could also try to buy a used LR-52,used on all the older stuff, with a seperate fuel guage,Like 94-95 SL650

OK guys time for me to get stupid; ? is the power supply for MFD 12V. or 2.5 V. I thought that all I had to do was hook up this new fuel guage to 12v. & to the sending unit.

The MFD uses 12Volts, supplied on red/purple wire. Fuel guage sending unit is the pink wire. Black wire is ground.

If you bought the aftermarket guage,it's 12v, you're all set.

    If you're using a Polaris fuel guage,you need 2.5v.
