    Exclamation Need Help Quick!

    im leaving to the keys in a couple hours and i just noticed the throttle on my rxt is messed up

    it seems stuck. i pull the lever and it moves the wire a bit and then doesnt let me pull it any further.

    what should i check ?

    Look in the engine compartment were the throttle cable attaches to the throttle body..make sure it didnt get bound up right there...If its good the chase the throttle cable back to the throttle lever..you should find it pinched or bound..IF not then you may have a corroded or broken throttle cable

    Remove the tube to the throttle body,,,spray it with throttle body cleaner and work butterfly loose by pulling cable. The butterfly is sticking due to corrosion on the surface of the aluminum throttle body.

    meaning when u pull the throttle lever (Riva finger throttle I take it) the cable stays loose?

    yup HOSS is right...

    u gotta spray a bunch of lube and cleaner in there and take your hand and keep working the throttle body back and forth til it frees up.

    avoid using the cable or thriottle lever so u dont stretch the cable while working it loose... just use your hand and keep forcing it back and forth and keep spraying lube in there
