Performance Headwork, Anyone done the Serdi Valve Job on eBay?

Has anyone sent their head off to have the Serdi 3 way DND valve job described in this eay auction? I have an extra head now, and was considering trying it.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=320064961183

I was curious if anyone had already had it done, and whaqt if any performance gains were acheived. Its a shame we dont have a way to dyno, or a way to get consistant power numbers for comparison of parts.

Your best bet is to talk to him. What he knows about this stuff will blow you away. I have watched him do a set and was very impressed.

I have not, but will be speaking to him soon about doing it and some porting and polishing work.
I will say that he has done work for me in the past on 2 strokes and as Bill said is very knowledgable and trustworthy.

Serdi machines have been used for many years with excellent results. Alot of top tuners have turned to CNC machines with high volume work though.

    One thing to remember is:

If you sink the valves any further than stock you will lose horsepower.

I am happy to hear you say that. Coming from you, I feel better about getting it done.

If you don't mind explaining Nitro how is that? because if you recess the valves, you increase combustion chamber size, which decreases compression?

I also realized with forced induction headword yields less results than it would on a naturally aspirated engine.

He told me that he does PPG's work so you may have seen some of his work.
He seemed like a cool guy when I talked with him last year.

This is a untrue Internet Myth . People try to justify why they don't need to modify their heads because of money. I will say this Head work when properly done will increase horsepower significantly.

By sinking the valves the flow becomes restricted and causes the air to become funnel shape which is not a ideal flow patern.

If you sink the valves more than .06 of an inch I would seriously consider installing new valve seats.

It is true he is a cool guy. But has never done head work for PPG.
