    Removing the front oil pump???

I see the rotax racing enginer engine has the front oil pump removed and the filler cap relocated onto the valve cover.

What are the benefits of removing the front pump? Is it easy to do?

Someone must know the reasoning behind this, Is it just weight saving?

They say it saves 15 hp and the bottom of the block needs to be modded.

15hp is quite alot. Do you know exactly what needs to be done to the block?

I guess its either a huge secret that no one would want to give out OR no one knows anything about it since it will give out 15hp which makes a difference for everyone looking for each hp to get that extra mph, but I guess no one would know since I never read in the forum that anyone have a rotax engine.

I think the only one in this forum who has full understanding about this engine is MR racing I own one of this engines but I never part it out to see the changes.

You SURE that pump isn't still up there. I know the other stuff has been relocated to the rear.
