    Pump Advice on 01 1200R

    I bought used 50 hrs., totally stock now it's IR Carbs, milled head, Riva Ride plate, R and D CDI, D Plate. Goal was to get from 64 to 70 mph top end. I haven't been able to run it since putting it all back together, other than flushing it, but from past experience, I know the OEM impeller needs to go.

    In 2002, Carl at IR worked a minor miracle on an 00 GPR I had with just a pump liner and a repitched Nu Jet 6.5. I don't know if better impellers have come out yet or not, but I would like to find out.

    I have seen postings where guys are putting 1300R pumps and extensions on drive shafts to 1200R's for better gain. I don't know if this would work for me or not.

    My goal has been to get 70 mph top end using a 3 degree exit nozzle (boat handles so much better that way).

    The 05 Pump and 14/20 DF will definitely work in your ski. You should be able to pitch up to dial in your RPM's how much I am not sure since you are running the 3* nozzle. look to drop $450 or more on a used set-up. The nujet is a good choice for the older style pumps less up front costs and you can definitely get 70+ out of them with the 5* outlet. I would look for one of those I know I have seen a few kicking around here.
