    Question about front crank bearing

Ok well today my Yamaha store opened back up so I went and bought some more Yamaha Marine Grease so I could finish the lower end. I know how everything goes together except for one thing. The pin in the front crank bearing.

I attached a picture. That is the pin right in front of the hole I think it goes in in the top half of the crank casing. Is this correct? I notice the hole on the bearing is much bigger. Also to get the pin into that hole it will be a tight fit. So if that is correct how do i do it?

    Thanks guys.

Are you sure you bought an OEM pin?

Ok guys, good news. Lowell sent me an email and let me know it was a tight fit. I didn't want to get rough with it if it was wrong but I was sure the pin was right and that was the right hole. I used some yamaha marine grease on the pin and froze the pin. I then heated the area with a torch. I was able to push it in the hole unlike before but not all the way. I then took a hammer to it.

Thanks Lowell, and everyone. Your guys are a great help.

Well I got the crank ready to go in! I was going to do it tonight but I just relized I didn't have enough red locktite. So tomorrow I will be going out to buy some and putting the lower casing together. I also plan to put the starter and flywheel on.
