    Interesting X Ski Observation

Just got back from the Pleasanton Boat Show... turns out the RXP-X and RXT-X use the same intake grate. The RXT also uses the same pump support as the RXP allowing for a 40 mm set back. Interesting

How about the tunnel diff. between the "P" and the "PX"? Is it longer and wider?

    Jeff,

I measured... then stared... and then measured some more. Without being able to go up into the pump tunnel, I'd say they are identical. In other words the RXP-X has the same pump tunnel as a current RXT/GTX. The intake grates are identical... same length as a current RXT/GTX but with the bolt pattern of a current RXP (so the RXP shoe can be used in the RXT). In fact, I believe one could order a current RXP pump shoe, RXP drive shaft, and acquire a '08 intake grate... it would all fit in an RXT/GTX for a 40 mm pump set-back.

Jeff... I didn't do a good job of answering your question.

From my observation, I don't believe the P-X is wider than the P, I think it is longer... about 2 1/2" longer.

I dont know if it is true but a very good source told me back in october that the opening would be longer and 18mm wider i guess we will just have to wait untill someone measures it out for us.

the RXP driveshafts may be the correct length for setting back the RXT pump, but it looks like there may be a problem with the carbon seal area location being different on the shaft. May be able to machine a groove on P shaft to get it to work.

That is what I'm going to do with my spare RXP shaft... although a person could wait until the '08 shafts are available and order one that is already done.

It should be relatively easy to chuck a used RXP shaft in a lathe and turn a .75 mm radius groove for the circlip... and a heck of a lot cheaper

Anyone got an RXP pump support for sale?...
