    Project 650 to 750 swap

i'm starting work on my 1993 Polaris SL 650. I got this ski in pretty beat up shape dings and chips all over the body front to back. By the looks of it everytime the P/O parked it he kept it too close to the dock. I bought this ski off a friend, WORKAHOLIC, who tore the engine down and found i had a snapped connecting rod that took a chunk out of both the cylinder and the block. So now i have a new block a new crank and i'm waiting for the cash to pile up before i go buy the ski i found for parts, a 1994 Polaris 750 with a seized engine which i will be taking the cylinders off and sending off to get bored ($30 a hole).

What kind of shape is the 94 Hull in? It already has a better style jet pump than the 93. You might just want to use that hull instead. You could take the hull Id off the 93 and put it on the 94 if that is an issue but if the 94 hull is shot, you'll want to look into swapping the pump.

    Hulls

I haven't gotten a good look at the 94 hull yet it's sitting in chest high grass the only thing i have gotten a good look at was the motor i don't know if sitting outside for the last 4 years did any damage to the pump or not but i'll check it. the 94 hull is alot nicer colour black hood red decals white body.

    Pumps and rideplate

Okay I have 3 different pumps each with it's own problems i'm going to rebuild one of them (new seals and bearings). I also have the original rideplate but it's all beat up what type of rideplate do you guys prefer (ocean pro etc.),or would i be better off to stick with a stock rideplate, this will not be a straight line ski more like a turn and burn style.

I'd list all three of those jet pumps on ebay and try to get a couple of bucks for them. You want a 94 or newer jet pump. Those are junk A lot of people say ocean pro ride plate. You can save money and go with a 95 or 96 SLX plate. You can find them cheap and they work fine.

    I agree dump those pumps

    Pumps

Okay but say I use the 94 pump and the impeller is screwed can the 3 blade impeller be used, would i benefit or lose power,or would i be better off just finding a 4 blade impeller or a swirl impeller.

nope not if your talking about the three blade from a old unit the newer version is a larger diameter
