2008 IJSBA Rules Changes and WF Classes

Here is a list of rule changesand WF Classes
    http://www.ijsba.com/ijsba/index.cfm.../misc/0003.htm

and WF classes more in depth
    http://www.ijsba.com/ijsba/index.cfm.../misc/0002.htm

Now we just need to know what APBA is doing and I'll know what I can build for '08.

If I am reading this right they are saying that the HSR Prestige or Race edition will not be allowed to race because they capped displacement at 2000cc...they are both 2196cc.

Yeah I don't think the prestige and race models will be able to race in Stock/Limited/Open at WF. They may be able to race GP, but I don't know what the max cc displacement for that is.

I'm happy they decided to put 4-stroke Limited rules into the limited class. I just hope the APBA atleast somewhat follows the rules and classes that the IJSBA set for WF because if they don't it'll probably mean more money to build.

Yup, its cool that they gave 2 stokes their own limited class to run in too...they can still run with 4 strokes but that's their choice. If APBA does the same then I will probably keep running my XPL in classic and use the RXP for stock or limited 4 stroke

yeah I liked how IJSBA did that. If you keep your RXP stock class you could even run Amateur Runabout Lites at WF(I bet APBA will some type of class like this). I can't run it because the RXP-X is 255 and oem hp limited in 220hp. oh well I got 2 limited classes, an open, and a stock class at WF.

They can, but they can't race the runabout lites class because the max oem hp is 220. I think the RXP might be able to dominate in the lites class. I would think the APBA would follow the same thing with having stock class in which all stock class boats can race and then have a lites class with that 220 oem hp cap.

I feel bad for the ultras that want to do CC...they're going to get clobbered over the next couple of years if the hp line is going to be drawn at 220. If the other boats in their class are going to be the SHO, X, HSR and Agusta...ultras will disappear

yeah, but they are hard to pass once in front of you. At nationals when I was behind some they put off a weird wake and it made it hard to pass.
