    Breaking in the FX Sho

    For the ones getting the new FX SHO. How are you going to break it in?

    I will give mine a proper warm up and then begin some short 3/4 throttle bursts from a dead stop to help seat the rings. I'll ride it around a while and vary the throttle and not hold one RPM for too long. After about an hour i'll start giving it some short bursts of wide open throttle. After a few hours of riding it and varying the RPM's i consider it broken in.

    When riding it around for a while Jerry, do you still do the 3/4 burst in intervals and how long do you continue until the final WOT burst?

    Yes. I have a red 'Cruiser' on order. Keep getting told they arrive in March.

    I intend to bring it home and read the books to see what Yami. suggest re. running it in before putting it in the water.

    From the manual;

    First 5 mins trolling speed only,

    Next 30 mins keep below 5000 rpm

    Next hour keep below 6000rpm

    Then your good to go.
