Thread: 91+ High octane

    91+ High octane

I was just curious to wether its better to add octane booster to the 91octane gas I'm already putting into the beast.

Normally higher octane burns cleaner and makes for more power but I'm just wondering if having too much heat could damage the engine itself...

I just want whats best for it, and if putting octane booster is better for it then so be it, otherwise I'll stick with my 91 octane pump gas.

    Thanks,
    Stretch

Just use the 91+ no need for anymore unless you are running some serious mods...

Ok, so I can put 94 pump gas if the gas station has it? And it wont damage anything?

    Yup...

The manual says ATLEAST 91 ...so any PUMP gas from 91 up is ok to use

    Ok, perfect! That settles that.

    Just another quick question...

Would it good for the engine if I was to add abit of Lucas Oil Stabilizer? Or its just not worth it/needed?

what if the highest rating you can get at the pump is 90 octane? Can anyone recommend a good additive to put into the gas to boost up octane. THX!

well from what I've read, 91 is more then enough. I'm getting that 90 should be plently... But thats only my opinion.

Alaska I wouldnt worry about it unless you are getting into some serious mods...If you are running stock, up to an air intake, I wouldnt worry about it...once you get farther then that throw some cheap octane booster in there.

If it has a friction modifier in it, DO NOT USE IT. It will destroy your SC clutch if you have a supercharger in your set up

    missed that question....

YEAH DONT PUT ANYTHING IN THERE EXEPT BRP OIL....no modifiers no anything just straight BRP Oil that you can get from the dealer...\

Some will tell you you can use Castrol, but I wouldnt chance it, just get the BRP stuff directly from your dealer!

    Good Catch Jeff!
